Here's some development work I did for the new Thundercats series a while back. It was a fun production with some really hard working dudes making it all happen. Just want to give a quick shout out to Dan, Ethan, Toshi, Will, Sean & Brian... hope you guys are well, congrats on the show:)

It's a bit short notice, but I just wanted to let you know about this amazing book that my buddy Dave Wilkins put together. For those of you who don't know him, Dave is an awesome dude and an amazing artist. I'm proud to call him a friend. Check him out at Comic Con this year!!! I humbly contributed along with dozens of other fantastic artists for this tribute to one of the coolest characters ever created.

Dave, Peter Han, and myself did short stories for the book. I was blown away when I saw what Dave and Peter came up with. You'll have to see for yourself. In the meantime, here's page 1 of my short story.

I want to thank my friend Patrick Awa (who happens to be an amazing designer btw) for inviting me to participate in this cool art auction to support the relief efforts in Japan. It's difficult at times to know how to react in the face of disaster. I'm honored and grateful to be able to contribute alongside a bunch of other talented artists in the spirit of compassion and aid. Just wanted to post a quick thank you to Sophie Anders and the readers at onlinecomputersciencedegree for recognizing my blog. I've gained so much inspiration and education by studying the work of artists who generously share their work on the web. I recently had the opportunity to work with 2 of my favorite artists, Luis Grane and Max Graenitz, on this TV commercial. Max and Luis are truly amazing and they assembled an all-star team of animators for the project. For some crazy reason they asked me to help art direct and paint the backgrounds:) It was a blast.

Most of my time over the last three years was spent on the Gatchaman project at Imagi Studios. I'm extremely proud of the effort and dedication of everyone involved in making the film despite the outcome. I pulled these screenshots of the film from my friend Felix Ip's blog. Felix is an amazing individual, you should definitely check out his site when you get a chance, it's a treat.

I've been pretty busy so I haven't had as much time as I would like for personal work. What little time I have had I've spent in search of style. My intention with this piece was to take some of my favorite artists' styles and blend them together. Didn't really know what to expect on this one.

Thought I'd put up a few pieces I did a while ago while I was working at Midway in San Diego on Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows. This was my first time working on a video game and it was a great experience. I spent most of my time designing environments but on occasion they let me have some fun with characters. Loved working with the Gauntlet crew, hope you guys are doing well.

So I'm still getting used to this whole blogging thing. Apparently, the idea behind a blog is to continue to post new content, wow what a concept. Francis, Dave and I have begun work on a new book together. This is one of my early development pieces for it.
